Made from the heritage Locarnini vineyard in Santa Clara valley, originally planted around 1920. This old field blend of Zinfandel, Alicante Bouschet, Carignane, Mourvedre, Black Muscat and Petite Sirah is only .6 acres, all that is left from its original 18 after Highway 101 was built. Notes of ripe cherry, blood orange and dried herbs - this is rich and fruity yet nicely balanced and juicy on the palate. Destemmed and fermented with native yeast in an open top vat and aged 10 months on the lees in neutral barrel. No ameliorations, filtration or added sulfites. 15.5% ABV. 50 cases made. Keep cool.
